My name is Melissa, I’m a mum who loves exploring nature through hiking and trail running, and like you I want my yoga practice to be both a support to a full life and something I feel is truly my own.
I believe your journey with yoga should be interesting, exploratory and help you to learn more about yourself with every class.
Maybe you’re here because you’ve tried other types of yoga where you've copied shapes and ways of moving, and it wasn’t really your thing.
Or you’ve always done sports and are not sure how yoga can help you ease ongoing niggles or general wear on the body.

When you're starting out, trying something new can feel intimidating, and it’s easy to feel like you’re just copying without really understanding the skills you’re developing.
You’re looking for a community and somewhere you feel like you can be yourself.
You want a movement practice that’s not one-size-fits-all, that encourages you to celebrate you and your journey.
One where you have permission to give yourself what you need, trust your body and the freedom to be you.

If you’d like me to help you bring more of this into your life through yoga, then you’re invited to join the YogaSound Online membership.
Classes are designed to help you:
-
Learn tools for real life application
-
Explore rest and relaxation (we can forget what that feels like)
-
Explore strength and activation
-
Practice self care
-
Return to your own wisdom; knowing when to give more and when to pull back
And don’t forget you'll be part of a supportive community and you can practice in the comfort of your own home.

In Yoga Sound Online we have the following classes:
YIN: slow and low to the ground, with long holds in poses to allow time to turn inwards and unwind.
YIN / YANG: exploring movement and stillness to help prana flow.
SLOW VINYASA: finding strength and stability, guided by the breath.
BREATH: pranayama/breathing techniques with little-to-no movement involved.
CHAIR YOGA: modifications of common postures using the chair for stability and support.
Each of these classes complement the other. You can practice one or all four depending on your intention.
If you're someone who works at a desk during the day and you want to move your body when work is done - our flow classes are perfect.
If you’re physically active and want to balance your nervous system and facilitate recovery then the yin yoga and breath classes can help you with this.

FAQs
Can I drop into a class, or join a casual class online?
The YogaSound Online Studio is designed to take you on a 5 week journey. It's been set up this way so that you have the opportunity to build on your skills as we explore a theme or topic in detail. This means that intake for the online studio classes will occur every 5 weeks at the onset of a new cycle.
If I sign up now, when will my payment be taken?
Once you sign up to the online studio, your first payment will be taken immediately. Your next payment will be automatically deducted 4 weeks after the beginning the class cycle unless you cancel your subscription beforehand.
Can I stop my membership at any time?
Membership payments are made on a monthly basis and are automatically deducted from your account until you decide to stop. You can stop your membership at anytime by logging onto the website or app and accessing your membership information. Select 'my subscriptions' and 'cancel subscription'.
What if I miss a live class?
All live classes are recorded and will be added to an online library which can be accessed exclusively by YogaSound members.
I don't like yin yoga or breathwork. Do I need to attend each of the class styles offered?
There may be some styles or types of classes that are just not your thing and that's ok! Everything is offered as an invitation, nothing is compulsory. We will be progressing in our learning over the 5 weeks, so you are encouraged to keep up with the ones you do enjoy and attend, so that your knowledge and practice can be built upon.
I have never done yoga before. Are these classes suitable for me?
Yes! Our online studio classes are suitable for all levels of experience, including absolute beginners. You'll be guided in how to adapt your practice to suit your unique level of experience and needs, and encouraged to choose-your-own-adventure so that you can safely and appropriately make choices that benefit you.
What equipment will I need?
Depending on where and what you choose to practice, a yoga mat can provide cushioning and a non-slip surface. Some other props that may be useful are a yoga strap and blocks, as well as a bolster, but there are many ways to adapt using things you already have lying around at home.
